Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals, 44th Match

The 44th match of IPL 2023 between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Host Gujarat had to face defeat in this match. You will be surprised to know that this is the first defeat of the Gujarat team in the run chase. Even last year only once the team was not successful in the run chase. The wonder that Mumbai Indians did last year has now been repeated by Delhi Capitals.

Let us tell you, Gujarat Titans have chased the target in 14 matches in the history of IPL so far. Out of these 14 matches, Gujraj’s team has won 12 times and lost only twice. It happened once last season and once in this season it happened. Last year Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat and this year Delhi has done the job of razing GT.

Even more surprising is the fact that in the two matches Gujarat Titans have lost while chasing, the team has lost by 5-5 runs in both those matches. This will prove to be a big blow for the current champion team of IPL. However, this defeat has not made much difference to the Gujarat team, as the team was at the top of the points table earlier and even after losing, it is sitting at the top with 12 points.

Delhi Capitals have defended the lowest score in their team’s history. Earlier this season, the Delhi team had defended 145 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad and before that in 2009 against Rajasthan Royals, they had defended a score of 151 runs. In 2012 too, the Delhi team successfully defended a target of 153 runs against Rajasthan Royals, but for the first time they have defended a target of less than 140 runs.
